We can touch (also trust?) the Windows

 

In fact I metioned this thing on the previous news - ”The Next Touch“, but I’d like to talk about the other side. Those stuffs from that topic are unofficial and fake, just designs,  however I expect that Apple must release a kind of them someday. Let’s look a few incoming real multi-touch products shown above that running genuine Microsoft Windows 7. The advantage of Windows 7 is that it can run on any vendors’ compatible hardware while Apple’s OS generally performs on only official Apple’s hardware, except when Apple’s is open-source (e.g., Darwin). So we might see more kinds of products running Windows 7; that could be laptops, tablet PCs, kiosks, vizwalls, and (touched) screens; and produced by any vendors.  Finally I can (multi)touch the Windows but I wonder whether it could be trusted

The Next Touch

Let’s see a few designs of multi-touch products. Many people might see these stuffs before. I collected these things via Google by guilding the keyword “mactouch“.  I’d like to keep these stuffs on my blog. Then let’s see when Apple will release a kind of these things. Like it’s happened before, unreal iPhone was ever designed by someone , and then the real one has been released. The question is that what the name of this product is – MacTouch, MacBook Touch, TouchBook, iTouch, or iTablet. The new version of Mac OS X might be released to support the multi-touch technology and the accelerometer control also. I found that the new version of MS Windows, Windows 7, supports the touchable screen more than Tablet Edition does, also see at blog.wired.com: Ballmer and Gates demo Windows 7. I hope that Apple might invent more fascinated products by using both multi-touch and accelerometer. They will be the new user-interface for the next generation of PCs, maybe not the next gen, but now.

Surface Computing (และคุณจะไม่อยากใช้ Keyboard?)

ช่วงนี้ผมคงไม่ได้มาโพสต์อะไรบ่อยนักครับ ก็เลยขอขั้นรายการโดยเสนอข่าวไอทีแล้วกันครับ จริงๆก็ไม่ใช่ข่าวใหม่อะไรครับ แต่สำหรับคนที่ยังไม่เคยได้ดูก็จะได้เห็นอะไรใหม่ๆ ครั้งนี้ ผมขอเสนอ “Surface Computing” ซึ่งเป็นวิธีการติดต่อสื่อสารกับผู้ใช้แนวใหม่ เมื่อผมเห็นคลิปวิดีโอนี้ครั้งแรกก็รู้สึกเลยว่ามันก็เหมือน iPhone หรือ iPod Touch นี่เอง แต่อาจจะอลังการกว่าตรงที่จอมันใหญ่กว่า และก็ติดต่อสื่อสารกับอุปกรณ์อื่นๆได้โดยการวางอุปกรณ์บนหน้าจอ ซึ่งเขาเรียกหน้าจอนี้ว่า Surface หรือพื้นผิว จึงเป็นที่มาของเทคโนโลยีที่ชื่อ Surface Computing นั่นเอง บริษัทเจ้าของโครงการของเทคโน Surface Computing ก็คือ Microsoft ผมคาดว่า เขาเตรียมเทคโนนี้ไว้สำหรับอุปกรณ์พวกจอ Multi-touch หรือคอมพิวเตอร์พกพาประเภท PDA และ Tablet PC และเราคงจะได้เห็น Windows และ Software อื่นๆที่สนับสนุนเทคโนตัวนี้ในไม่ช้าครับ ผมเชื่อว่า Microsoft ทำได้ครับ (เชื่อในกำลังทรัพย์ว่าทำได้ไม่ยาก) แต่มันจะแทน Keyboard ได้หรือเปล่า ก็คงไม่ได้หมดทุกสถานการณ์หรอกครับ อย่างถ้าผมต้องนั่งเขียนโปรแกรมบน Touchscreen ผมว่าคงไม่คุ้นมือแน่ๆ แต่ถ้าเป็นโปรแกรมบางประเภท โดยเฉพาะพวก Multimedia อันนี้น่าสนมากๆครับ เห็นว่าเขาเริ่มนำเทคโนนี้ออกขายแล้วนะครับ และใช้จริงในกลุ่มธุรกิจบางกลุ่มแล้วด้วย ไปดูคลิปเอาเองแล้วกันครับ ว่ามันทำอะไรได้บ้าง…สำหรับไอเดียผมตอนนี้คือเอาไปทำกระดานดำ (White board หรือกระดานขาวกันแน่) สำหรับสอนหนังสือในห้องเรียนครับ คงทำให้ผู้เรียนไม่ง่วงนอน (คาดว่านะ…)
